Reward Increased in Homicide Case
On December 28, 2009, officers with the Granite Falls Police Department
responded to Granite Gun and Pawn , a licensed federal firearms dealer,
located at 90 South Main Street, Granite Falls, and found Tony Myers of
Taylorsville deceased.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) has offered an
additional reward of up to $5000 on top of the $1,000 offered by Caldwell
County Crime stoppers. The reward for information leading to the arrest and
conviction of the person or persons responsible for the death of Tony Lee Myers
in Granite Falls,
NC is now up to $6,000.
Investigators with the Granite Falls Police Department and agents from the NC
State
Bureau of Investigation and ATF are continuing to follow up on leads and
information. Investigators are still attempting to identify a person of
interest who was released in a sketch on December 29, 2009. The person of
interest has been described as a white male with a slim build, short in
height, and has dark colored hair. The sketch released by investigators can

On Monday, December 28, 2009 at approximately 1:42 pm the Granite Falls Police responded to the Granite Gun & Pawn located at 90 S. Main Street in Granite Falls in reference to a robbery / homicide of Tony Lee Myers. Myers was found deceased from an apparent gunshot wound and numerous items were taken from the pawn business. Witnesses described the abovementioned person as someone inside the pawn business around the time of the homicide that had a possible speech impediment.
